Profile: Mian Javed Ali, son of Chaudhry Lal Din, has been elected as the Nazim of the newly formed Samanabad Town. In the previous district government, he was naib nazim of Allama Iqbal Town. Aged 52, Javed did his graduation from Government College Lahore.

He entered active politics in 1979 and participated in social work in Ichhra. He contested election for the Punjab Assembly in 1993. Settlement of the shelter less and slum-dwellers is his top priority.
