Profile: Faraz Ahmed Chaudhry, son of Chaudhry Zakauddin, is a totally new name in the politics of Lahore. However, he claims he is in active politics since 2002 when he canvassed for his brother-in-law, Punjab IT minister Abdul Aleem Khan, who was contesting Punjab Assembly elections then. Just 36, he is one of the youngest town nazims of Lahore.

He attended Crescent Model Higher Secondary School, Shadman, and Lahore and did his graduation from FC College. After that he went to Canada and did his BBA from there. Faraz says he and Aleem are friends since their childhood and have even studied together in Pakistan as well as abroad. Both of them even stayed together in Canada. Supplying clean water to citizens, fixing the bad sewerage system, removal of encroachments, construction of parking lots and improving solid waste management system are his priorities.
